I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and began my career with Birmingham City Schools. During that time I earned my Master's Degree from UAB. Later I was hired by Shelby County Schools where I taught for a very brief time at Thompson Elementary School. I moved onto Montevallo Elementary School before my final school--Oak Mountain Elementary. I retired from the classroom in 2002 but remain in touch with my passion for knowledge through lasting friendships and through browsing the latest professional book.
